Why Iraq and the IQD will never perish in the minds of millions

Iraq is the Birthplace of Judaism and Christianity and houses significant landmarks for the Muslim religion.

Iraq, situated in the heart of the Middle East, is a country steeped in rich history and cultural heritage. It is believed to be the birthplace of two of the world’s major religions — Judaism and Christianity.

The old Iraq was known as Mesopotamia, which translates to “the land between two rivers” referring to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers that flow through it.

Although Mesopotamia is important to world history, that is not the reason Iraq is in the hearts of millions of people.

According to biblical scriptures, Abraham —who is considered to be the father of both Christianity and Judaism was born in Ur, which is located in present day Iraq. Ur is located in Southern Iraq and takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes to drive to the capital of Iraq, Baghdad.

But here’s the deal.

Baghdad is less than 60 miles from the ancient city of Babylon.

Babylon is mentioned over 250 times in the Old-Testament of the Biblical scriptures, and over 280 times throughout the Old and New Testaments. Today, the ruins of Babylon are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the area is known as the Babylon…
