Why I’m back to promoting my preschool @ home, here’s why it's so important . . .

Ya, one of my careers before retiring was in the preschool industry. This is the secret message I have for new parents.

Not every child is ready for a class size of twelve children times two.

Meaning in California, the law said one teacher for every twelve children. However often times, two classes would mesh together with one teacher and one teacher’s aide. It was more economical.

Imagine a soft-spoken child is two years and six months old.

He is observant, yet the loud noises upset his emotional balance. He jumps every time another child makes a loud noise.

He watches all the other children as they played loudly, yet he wasn’t sure which group of children he wanted to play with, so he stood back and watched.

When it came time for circle time, he joined in, but was not ready to sing the ABC song or do any of the other noisy activities.

The bottom line.

This lovely soft-spoken, kind and gentle soul was not ready for the preschool environment. The kids were too loud, too aggressive and far too verbal for his liking.

My job was to encourage him to join in with the other kids, because if he didn’t like the…
