This is a true story.

I lived in a beautiful studio apartment overlooking the Bay of Banderas, seven miles outside of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The only reason I was able to snag the apartment for $400 a month, was because the gentleman who live there before me, said it was too hot in the summer.

He didn’t lie.

The small apartment had floor to ceiling windows and during the summer months, the temperatures were almost unbearable.

I learned to put one floor fan facing one way and a smaller fan facing in the opposite direction. I opened the front door and created a breeze.

This was the only way I could stand the heat.

During those days, I was working online, just like I do these days.

Sometimes I would become overwhelmed.

My breaks included going outside and catching a bus right in front of the apartment building to a small fishing village three miles down the road.

Mismaloya, was not as popular then as it is today.

There were a couple stores across the street from where the bus stopped, in Mismaloya, but I preferred to walk down the hill and to the right, to find my favorite little, small…
