Short Story — Iraq Warrior Fights ISIS, Her Name is Amira
Iraq a country torn from the Iran-Iraq war to the Kuwait-Iraq Incident to the 2003 invasion.
Then there was ISIS. This is a short story about a woman named Amira. A brutal, yet loving story about one’s love for their country.
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) had taken over large swathes of the country, leaving death and destruction in their wake. Buildings lay in ruins, and the streets were empty, except for the sound of gunfire and explosions. It was a brutal existence for those who dared to remain in the cities that ISIS controlled.
But in the shadows, a group of resistance fighters emerged, determined to take back their country from the clutches of terror. They were led by a woman named Amira, a former member of the Iraqi Army who had witnessed the atrocities committed by ISIS firsthand.
Amira and her fighters operated in secret, striking at ISIS targets in the dead of night. They were highly skilled and well-organized, and they knew the terrain better than anyone. They moved silently and swiftly, taking out ISIS soldiers and destroying their weapons and supplies.
For months, Amira and her fighters continued their campaign, slowly but surely chipping away at ISIS’s hold on the country.
