Retirement Planning is So Much More Than Finances

One of the hardest decisions you will have to make surrounding your retirement is what will you do with yourself after you retire. Sleeping late every morning, gets old after a while, and after three to six months, you are bored out of your mind.

Baby boomers who make rewarding decisions about how to spend their days and early evenings, once they’ve retired live longer and happier lives than those who don’t . Having something to wake up for in the morning, is a part of being a part of something greater than yourself, something to keep life exciting. Without this planned emotion, during retirement, it is a slow downhill experience, especially if you are living a budget retirement.

Some baby boomers read, read and read, others drink, and watch the cable TV all day everyday. We have baby boomers living here in Mexico who visit the local bar seven days a week. In fact6 one retiree spent so much time at the bar that he purchased the bar, now it is a standard place to go in Puerto Vallarta. Others go to the beach and watch the sun set five or six days a week. No matter what town I move to, I can always find a bar where Americans and Canadians hang out to watch the sun set each day. This is a common thing to do in seaside towns all over…
