There is no need to spend the holidays alone.
It can be a depressing time, I know, I have spent my fair share of holidays away from family while traveling the world.
I have gotten through these holidays without incident, but after a while it takes a toll, especially when you are getting older and most of your friends have change their address to the nearest cemetery.
The further you stay away from the crowd who gets excited about a funeral, because it means some place to go, the longer you will live. Stay active, eat healthy, exercise and stop taking calls from the dead.
You know, when the phone rings, and it is someone telling you about another friend who has passed away. Of course, you are expected to attend the services, but at what cost?
This is why, so far, I have refused to live in a senior community.
I do not want to get attached to that line of thought.
