Here are five of the best places to retire in Italy. Each of these locations has a community of ex-pats from around the world. The cost of living in Italy is not considered to be cheap. However, it is less expensive than many places in the United States.

The locals in Italy, on average, earn $1,692 a month. A one-bedroom apartment in the city center costs around $716 a month.

On the Budget Retirement Options channel, we encourage retirees to have three to four times the monthly salary of the locals, in order to live comfortably. However, $2400 a month seems adequate for Italy, because the rents are lower.

According to International Lifestyle, there are numerous apartments for rent at extremely reasonable prices outside of the most popular cities. Once you get out of the tourist areas, rents range from $440 to $640 a month, with many being furnished.

If you want to live in a popular tourist destination but are concerned with the cost, download the channel’s eBook on how to rent a room and earn four figures a month. This especially is true when renting a room in your apartment or villa in Italy. English-speaking tourists are always looking for an affordable stay in Italy.
