Iraq done gone and done it, criminalized being gay

Okay, so last Saturday, the Iraqi Parliament made it a crime to be gay.

You read it correctly.

Now the US State Department, Great Britian and other developed nations are all saying the same thing. “This will hurt Iraq’s progress.” “This will hurt international investments in Iraq.”

And for the most part we believe what they are saying is true.

HOWEVER, there is another side of the coin. The side of the coin that the media does not report. A side of the coin that is more dangerous than ever, yet allows the freedom of some and the discrimination of others.

Don’t fool yourself, many people are happy with the new law, but will never admit it, just like there are people who are appalled.

This is one law that will surely tear us further apart.

Iraq is continuing on with business as usual.

They believe in their religious beliefs and have few to no regrets about the law.
