I tried to pray, but the words kept getting in the way . . . Here’s what I did.

I am not religious. However, I respect all religions, and this is what I have learned.

Out of the seven billion people on Earth, five billion are associated with “prayer” on one level or another.

Prayer is the common denominator of “all” religions in the world.

Each week, I set a goal for which to pray and meditate.

No sooner did Tuesday arrive than my words and thoughts were tangled up and without the consistency I started with on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. My prayer requests weren’t random; they were well thought out.

This has been happening for years, not just a few years but decades.

If you don’t align yourself when praying, your prayer's chances of getting through are slim to none. Alignment is crucial.

Alignment of mind, heart, and actions.

And, of course, faith.

Somewhere along the line, the subconscious mind kicks in and helps us to realize our prayers.

But my words were getting in the way, even when I wrote them down and read them back. By Tuesday evening, the words might as well have been in a different language because I was not able to connect to my original…
