People are moving offshore not because they want to but because that is the only way many people can retire and live well on less. At the same time, digital nomads are learning that when they keep the cost of living low, the stress is less when working online.

The more people who take the leap of faith, the more others think about it and then do it!

However, in your haste, here are five mistakes many people make before departing Canada or the United States.

Mistake Number One: People only pay off some of their debt before moving. This is the number one mistake people make.

Yes, it is less expensive to live offshore, but you should still leap with no debt. It will enable you to live a happier retirement or digital nomad life.

If you are going to break free, break free completely and entirely.

Mistake Number Two: People must remember to secure a reliable mail service in the United States, change their address, and officially move to a virtual address.

You need an address in the United States for many reasons, which will become apparent once you become an ex-pat.
