Traveling the world reveals major differences in what American children learn and what children in foreign countries are taught surrounding world events.

I am a slow traveler, meaning I stay in one place for no less than 30 days and usually no more than three months to six months, depending on how long the US passport allows me to stay.

Airbnb and other platforms have made it possible for me and hundreds of thousands of US citizens to not only travel the world but to live in the different neighborhoods in foreign countries.

In some cases, we become a part of the community for a short period.

For the most part few of us are complaining.

Traveling and living in different cultures is enlightening and exciting.

HOWEVER, when you stay in a foreign country for six months in the same community, you quickly learn that people in different parts of the world think differently than Americans when it comes to major world events.

One major difference is, we as Americans were taught in school that Hitler, the leader of Germany that caused such a stir around the world, well . . . . we learned that he died in the bunker in 1945.

I lived in Germany for one year when I was younger, the children in Germany at that time were not taught…
