Dear Fellow Americans:

I have been gone from you for eleven years.

I have returned only to satisfy my VISA run, or to catch a connecting flight to another country.

Oh yes, I returned once for a COVID-19 shot. Countries stopped travelers from entering, if you did not have proof of being vaccinated.

I left because I wanted to live a more fulfilling retirement lifestyle and the Bay Area was too expensive for my retirement budget. Not a problem, I have traveled North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. No complaints. I lived in Europe when I was younger.

But here is what I want my fellow Americans to know.

Regardless of your race, or background, people in other countries watch you very carefully. You are on their newscast almost daily. They read about you in the newspapers and online.

And, they see all that you do.

They see the injustices, they see the lies, they see the indifferences. They see our politics, our Congress, our elections, our conflicts, and most things that Americans believe themselves to be hiding.

They see.
