Another reliable side hustle for retirees, working with the Feds
I personally did this side hustle for ten years after I retired, and ten years before I retired.
Preparing taxes for small business owners. This is a great way to work six months out of the year and travel the other six months. And when the Internet became reliable, I moved the entire business online and have been traveling the world slowly for the last ten years.
Of course, after traveling to my clients and attending to their every need, they were spoiled. Over 50% of my clients did not follow me online. And for this I was grateful. I wanted to slow down and travel, meet new people, and possibly find another husband, lol.
The thing is, each year, you earn more and more income, because your business grows. I started the one-person start up in the San Francisco Bay Area during the dot com boom in San Jose. Everyone was doing startups and I wanted to take advantage of the growth in the area.
The small business, TaxesWillTravel.com grew and I was more than satisfied with my annual income. I put a sign on my auto and people would see me as I drove in the bay area, Oakland, Berkeley, Hayward, San Francisco, Marin County and even down the Peninsula. That is how I got most of my clients.
