People are leaving the United States, Canada, and the UK, not because they dislike their countries. Many of us have left because we could not afford to live our best life while retired.
The cost of living in the US has become outrageous for baby boomers, especially those born, raised, and living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
It is just too damn expensive.
No problem.
Many of us decided to move off-shore.
No, we are not trying to get you to join us. The more people who move south, the higher the rents go. Mexico used to be affordable beyond belief when I first retired, and that wasn’t that long ago.
Now, it costs a lot more to qualify to live there full-time.
Baby Boomers are staying for six months, leaving, and catching a flight back into the country in an effort to comply with immigration laws. Others of us are moving further “South,” where you can still get an apartment overlooking the Atlantic Ocean for $500 a month.
